Junaid Farooq, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician, holds the position of Young Physician Section representative on the Minority Affairs Section (MAS) Governing Council at the American Medical Association. 

The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.

Dr. Farooq began his medical career in Pakistan, completed his internal medicine residency program at Charleston Area Medical Center with West Virginia University, and completed an infectious disease fellowship at State University of New York Upstate Medical University Hospital.
