2024 RFS Annual Meeting highlights

The AMA Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) held its annual meeting on Friday, June 7 in Chicago with more than 70 residents and fellows representing 19 states and 24 specialty societies.

The AMA helps physicians build a better future for medicine, advocating in the courts and on the Hill to remove obstacles to patient care and confront today’s greatest health crises. 

The RFS Assembly considered nine reports and 24 resolutions prompting robust discussion on important issues affecting trainees such as unionization, Public Service Loan Forgiveness reform, and support for paid sick leave.

The section immediately transmitted one resolution to the House of Delegates for consideration at its June 2024 Meeting. Learn more about these and other policies considered by the AMA House of Delegates.

The RFS Governing Council for 2024-2025 includes:

The largest national, multi-specialty medical research conference for medical students and residents is now accepting abstracts. Enter for the chance to showcase your research, include on your CV and win a $10,000 grand prize presented by Laurel Road. Deadline is July 16. Physician members are also invited to review and score abstracts. Participation is virtual and a two-hour time commitment starting late July through mid-August. Learn more.
