Where can I access a list of the latest Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes?

How can I obtain a license for using CPT content for manual coding and/or displaying codes on my user interface, rather than using the data to train models?
Organizations must be appropriately licensed for each product that uses or relies on CPT codes. For details on obtaining a CPT license, please visit our CPT licensing FAQs page.
What does the evaluation process entail for CPT uses in augmented intelligence (AI) and large language model (LLM) applications?
The AMA reviews all CPT licensing requests and applications. For those that indicate the intended use of AI or LLM systems in a product’s development or workflow, we assess how the product would integrate CPT content, focusing on how CPT content is used and how it is secured within these systems. The goal of this review is to ensure that the use of CPT content in innovative technology is appropriately licensed and complies with the AMA’s standard licensing requirements.
What is the estimated timeline for completing the evaluation and CPT licensing process, and how can I receive status updates?
We are contacting prospective licensees with the next steps for their pending CPT licensing applications. The primary contact identified for your organization will receive a separate email with a link to answer questions about your product. Once responses are received, an AMA licensing manager will reach out to the primary contact within 10 business days to schedule a call and discuss the licensing process further.
How can I schedule a meeting with an AMA licensing representative or expedite my licensing for use of CPT in AI or LLM applications?
To speak directly with an AMA licensing representative, please complete the survey link sent to your organization’s primary contact via email. Once we have received your responses, an AMA licensing manager will reach out to the primary contact within 10 business days to schedule a call and discuss the next steps. If you are requesting to expedite the process, please mention your urgency in your survey responses or contact us directly.
What if my organization already has a CPT license?
If your organization already has a CPT license agreement, the AMA will help determine whether your existing license can be modified to permit new uses of CPT content for specified AI or LLM applications, or if a new agreement is required. If you are a current licensee seeking support, please submit a support request. Be sure to include your Contract ID so we can review the correct account.
