Dr. Bitterman is an orthopaedic surgeon at Northwell Health, New York’s largest health system and a member of the AMA Health System Program. He is also an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Bitterman also serves as the chairperson of the department of orthopaedic surgery and is the associate residency program director at Northwell Health Huntington Hospital. He is a foot-and-ankle specialist with a focus on treating conditions of the lower leg. His clinical interests include arthritis of the foot and ankle, deformity correction, Achilles tendon disorders and sports-related injuries to the foot and ankle.
Additionally, Dr. Bitterman earned his bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, his medical doctorate from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at North Shore-LIJ Plainview Orthopaedic Consortium before graduating from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago where he completed his foot-and-ankle fellowship training.
