Pearl of the Week: Rethink prescription renewals

Save time with a 90 x 4 renewal system

| 1 Min Read
STEPS Forward Pearl of the Week

With an annual prescription renewal process, you’ll save time for both your team and your patients. Renew all long-term prescriptions for chronic conditions for the maximum duration state law permits—often, a 90-day supply with four refills. When the system is working properly, there will be no patient or pharmacy requests for refills and you will not need to ask patients themselves if they need refills. Your patients will appreciate when they need fewer trips to the pharmacy.
