Registration now open for A-24
The 2024 Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates (HOD) will be held June 7-12 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois. The section meetings will be held June 6-7 and the Specialty and Service Society Meeting on June 8 and 10. Please check with your section regarding their individual meeting times.
Advance registration online is required for all attendees of the AMA Section, House of Delegates and Specialty and Service Society meetings and their guests and children. New for this meeting, all attendees will be taken to a unified registration page which lists all meetings. Please register for each meeting you plan to attend; this includes the HOD for delegates and alternate delegates. To register, visit the registration page. You will need to sign in to the AMA website to continue. Registration should be completed by all attendees to attest to abide by our Code of Conduct. Participants must also attest for their guests.
Attendees must personally complete their registration. It should not be completed by other individuals. Your name on your badge will appear exactly as you type it into the system. Please do not use all CAPS or all lowercase letters.
HOD credentialing forms due
HOD credentialing forms for all delegations are due. If you have not submitted your form, please do so as soon as possible. HOD meeting credentials will be prepared for your delegate(s) and alternate delegate(s) based on the information you provide at this time. Society staff can access the online credential certification instructions and form on the HOD website. If you are not able to access the online form, or if you have questions about the process, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
Reference committee volunteers urgently needed
We are still in need of many volunteers to serve on House committees, including reference committees and rules and credentials, or as tellers at the 2024 Annual Meeting. We encourage all delegates and alternates to consider volunteering as soon as possible. We have extended the deadline to apply to Monday, April 8 by the end of business Central.
To apply for A-24 positions, a new online application form should be submitted immediately to be considered. We will no longer be accepting emailed applications. This new form will need to be submitted if you would like to be considered for service even if you have emailed forms for previous meetings. Preference will be given to volunteers who have not served at a recent meeting.
All reference committee volunteers must confirm their availability to meet virtually on the weekend prior to the opening session of the House to develop a preliminary document based on the online forum testimony. Those interested in serving as chair of a committee should indicate their desire to do so on the form.
Resolution submissions for A-24
The HOD Office is accepting resolution submissions for A-24. We are following the same deadline and submission protocols that were implemented for I-23. These deadlines will be strictly enforced. We expect a large volume of business so we encourage delegations to submit resolutions as soon as possible.
Please note that all submissions must be correctly formatted prior to the submission deadline, i.e. no edits/corrections will be accepted after the deadline. A resolution template with instructions has been uploaded to the HOD resolution submission webpage for your use. Again, all submissions must adhere to this template. Those that are incorrectly formatted will be returned for editing. The HOD office will not edit your submissions for you.
Submission deadlines
On time submissions:
- April 24 at 5 p.m. Central: Resolutions from meetings* held prior to April 1, 2024
- May 8 at 5 p.m. Central: Resolutions from meetings* held April 1 to May 1, 2024

*Bylaw 2.11.3.1.1 defines meetings to include any member organization’s house of delegates meeting or primary policy-making body’s meeting, as defined by the organization.
Handbook and online member forum tentative schedule
Resolutions and reports will be posted on the meeting website as they become available and all business received by the on time resolution submission deadline will be included in the HOD handbook. The handbook will be posted by reference committee on the Annual Meeting website on or around May 10. An abridged handbook containing only the recommendations from reports and the resolve clauses from resolutions will also be available as a Google sheet and a Word document. The complete handbook will be posted the following week. There will be no supplement. All on time submissions, minus any exempted submissions, will be posted to the online forums for your review and comments during the 14-day window currently required by policy.

Register to conduct candidate interviews
Delegations/caucuses who wish to interview A-24 candidates for AMA office must complete the Interview Group Form for 2024 Elections to be added to the list of interviewing groups that will be provided to the candidates for scheduling. Groups must submit the contact person responsible for scheduling and designate for which contests they wish to interview. Groups are reminded that candidates may not accept interview invitations from any group that is not found on this list. The HOD office will collate the list of groups wishing to interview for each position and send it to the corresponding candidates to schedule directly with the contact person designated by each interviewing group. This centralized official list provides transparency to all candidates seeking interviews, while allowing groups to decide if, when, how and for which contests they wish to interview.

- May 17-22: Virtual interview window
- May 22: Deadline to submit in-person group scheduler contact information
