Your powerful ally

The AMA helps physicians build a better future for medicine, advocating in the courts and on the Hill to remove obstacles to patient care and confront today’s greatest health crises.

Registration is now open. Registration is free for AMA Members.

Visit the travel and hotel page to reserve a room, book a flight, arrange child care and more.

Meeting documents will be posted once available.

Contribute to APS policymaking efforts by submitting a resolution for consideration at the 2025 APS Annual Meeting.  The resolution submission deadline is April 6. Submit resolutions and direct any questions to aps@ama-assn.org.

Members may comment on submitted resolutions in the APS online member forum beginning the week of April 15 and through the meeting.

New to the policy-making process? Access our education module, How AMA Policy is Made, and learn how APS members influence the AMA’s policymaking efforts.

While any AMA member may attend APS meetings, only APS members are permitted to make motions, vote, and run for office.

APS membership is open to any AMA member who meets one of three criteria:

  • Appointed by the dean of a U.S. medical school to represent the institution.
  • Holds a faculty appointment at a U.S. medical school.
  • Does not hold a faculty appointment at a U.S. medical school but has an active role in undergraduate, graduate or continuing medical education or serves in a clinical/research capacity with an academic medical center, community hospital or other health care setting.
