Kimberly Ibarra, a medical student at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, serves as at-large officer of the Medical Student Section (MSS) Governing Council for the 2024-2025 term.
The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.
Ibarra has been a member of the AMA since 2021, serving as alternate delegate to SHSU-COM, vice chair/chair elect of Region 3, alternate delegate for Region 3 to the House of Delegates Texas Delegation (non-voting member), chair of Region 3, and co-vice chair of the Committee on Economics and Quality improvement in Medicine.
