Krishna Channa, a medical student at University of Connecticut School of Medicine, serves as vice chair of the Medical Student Section (MSS) Governing Council for the 2024-2025 term.
The MSS is a member interest group within the AMA for medical students. The governing council is responsible for directing MSS efforts at the national level to improve medical education and advocate for the future of medicine.
Channa has been a member of the AMA since 2021, serving in various national, regional, state and local leadership roles, including as UConn AMA chapter president, UConn delegate to MSS, Region 7 policy chair, Region 7 DEIA chair, Region 7 chair, Region 7 delegate to the House of Delegates, MSS Standing Committee on Health Information and Technology chair, Connecticut State Medical Society Council voting member and Connecticut State Medical Society Young Physician Engagement Committee chair.
