Judith Flores, MD, holds the position of National Hispanic Medical Association representative on the Minority Affairs Section Governing Council at the American Medical Association.

The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.

Throughout her life and career, Dr. Flores has confronted the limitations of systems that lacked diversity and promoted inequities. Her work as chair of multiple clinical academic departments, as board chair of the National Hispanic Medical Association, as well as other leadership experiences at national organizations, has allowed Dr. Flores to form new partnerships and other collaborative efforts in medical education, patient care and research that is focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Her areas of focus include clinical practice, population health, and health disparities―especially those impacted by culture and language. Dr. Flores continues to broaden the scope of her mentorship work and has become involved in working on the impact of equity on clinical research.
