Resolution submissions
As we get ready for the annual meeting in June, the Resolution and Policy Committee (RPC), under the leadership of IMGS Delegate Deepu Sudhakaran, MD, and Alternate Delegate Luis Isea Mercado, MD, met and developed resolutions. While the RPC was established as an ad-hoc committee this year, we have added this to one of our standing committees in the upcoming Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) update to allow for consistent and ongoing section input into the resolutions we draft.
While the RPC develops resolutions based on section members’ feedback, please also feel free to submit resolutions to our delegates for review. The deadline for resolution submission, to allow ample time for section comment, is March 14. The online open comment on resolutions will occur from March 31–April 5. We look forward to robust section engagement.
Webinar series: Training in the U.S. on a visa
We understand that training in the U.S. on a visa is challenging in the best of times and can be stress-provoking in more uncertain times when it may appear difficult to get accurate information. The IMGS is working to collaborate with Intealth (formerly ECFMG) to put on a two-part series about training in the U.S. on a visa, and transitioning to practice on a visa. Please watch for additional details. The first webinar, “Pursuing Residency on a Visa,” is April 21 at 7 p.m. Central. Register now.
Meet the IMGS resident member
This month I would like to introduce you to our resident member. The resident member serves an important role liaising with the Resident Fellow Section to ensure bi-directional communication about priorities that impact both sections.
Rosalynn "Rosie" Conic, MD, PhD, was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and completed medical school at the University of Belgrade, and received a PhD in Clinical Translational Science at Case Western Reserve University. She then completed a general surgery internship at the University of Maryland, followed by Preventive Medicine at the University of California San Diego.
Rosie is now a PGY-4 in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Florida, and she matched to a pain medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. Her interest is in advocacy. In her free time, she likes to read romance or sci-fi novels, relax on the beach, and explore restaurants and cocktail bars.
