Fred Taweel, MD

Dr. Taweel is the chief medical officer of Privia Medical Group—Mid-Atlantic, which is part of Privia Health, an AMA Health System Program member. He also chairs the board of governors for Privia Quality Network—Mid-Atlantic. He has been an internist with Virginia-based Internal Medicine Associates of Reston since 1991 where, in 2001, he also became a managing partner. 

Additionally, Dr. Taweel served on the board of trustees at HCA Reston Hospital Center from 2001 to 2009. Dr. Taweel earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland in 1983, his medical doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in 1991.
