AMA's Health Systems Science Scholars program aims to help achieve the Quadruple Aim: improved patient experience, improved health of populations, reduced cost of care and health care professional wellness.

Health systems science, the third pillar of medical education, is the study of how health care is delivered, how health care professionals work together to deliver that care and how the health system can improve patient care and health care delivery.

The AMA has created the Health Systems Science Scholars program to cultivate a national community of medical educators and health care leaders who will drive the necessary transformation to achieve the Quadruple Aim: improved patient experience, improved health populations, reduced cost of care and health care professional wellness. In addition to providing faculty development and curricular resources, the program serves as a community that advances the field through curricular implementation and research development.

Applications for the 2022-2023 Health Systems Science Scholars program are now closed.
