Candidate statement
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to run for the AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws Resident and Fellow seat. I bring over a decade of service in various AMA leadership positions and have been a member of the House of Delegates since 2015. As a previous chair of the Medical Student Section and Resident and Fellow Section, I bring a deep understanding of organizational processes and challenges in section governance. I have overseen the passage of IOP revisions in both sections and have served as chair and vice chair of the RFS Committee on IOP Revisions. These experiences have provided a foundational instruction in the importance of good governance and strong processes.
Our AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws is vital to ensuring that the rules and regulations that we create serve to assist our AMA House of Delegates in creating the best policy for our physicians and patients. Council members must be strong leaders, experienced, knowledgeable, passionate, committed and consistent. They must have an eye for detail, know and understand the structure of the AMA sections and councils, and understand parliamentary procedure. I look forward to promoting your voice and advocacy by upholding the governance of our AMA through a strong foundation of process and procedure.
