- As a member of the AMA Council of Medical Education, Dr. Baker worked to provide guidance regarding virtual interviews for trainees at all levels. This has opened more avenues for trainees who may not have the financial means to travel to in-person interviews and lowered the cost for all trainees.
- In the future, she looks forward to reviewing alternative pathways through medical school that could help increase the number of physicians without decreasing educational quality.
- In today’s increasingly competitive health care environment, trainees not only need the medical knowledge to succeed; they also need a wide range of additional skills, such as advocacy and business skills.
- To create a well-rounded physician workforce, Dr. Baker is advocating for an increase in mental health services and tools for students to help reduce burnout, this involves some unique ideas.
- Additionally, she remains committed to increasing the number of physicians from all backgrounds, including Native American and other underserved communities.
